"THE SEED I PLANTED" by Jody Doty

"THE SEED I PLANTED"
by Jody Doty

Then the tear found its freedom and escaped down my cheek.
Its sadness made tracks down emotional rabbit holes, in and out of old relationships, illnesses,
rocky times, grief and disappointment.
Still, the tear flowed. It kept going until it couldn't travel any longer.
It landed on the ground of my being. It watered a tiny seed of hope I had planted there and miraculously, from the muddy depth of grief and gloom, something beautiful happened.
The seed took root. A sprout of acceptance and peace travelled upward from its hidden, healing home through an opening in the Earth.
It reached its face upward toward the sun and a brilliant flower of resilience bloomed for all the world to see.
Then, the sad little tear nodded with contentment and changed course.
It smiled peacefully, having made its way through the cycles of emotions, memories and a plethora of learning to the heart of the bloom that is life after loss, the sacred space where love remains.
