I know there may have been times in your life when you’ve

stopped dancing, stopped singing, stopped being yourself

because someone was watching you. Judging you.

And you are not the only one to feel this way. But I can’t help thinking that we’ve got it all wrong.

We’ve been taught that we must only be ourselves if it suits other people.

We must only sing if it sounds pleasing to those listening.

We must only dance if it looks good to onlookers.

But we are so wrong.

The birds sing - not because we might listen -

but simply with the joy of being alive.

And the trees dance in the wind - not because it looks good for us -

but because they are alive. Living in the moment. Whatever the moment may bring.

So sing as loud as you wish

and dance as much as you like.

You do not exist for the enjoyment of others.

You exist to be alive.

Properly, fully, beautifully alive.

Maybe right now you have to realize that your journey is not about loving another person

Maybe right now, you have to love yourself first and feel the inner peace of being alone

Maybe right now, you need to figure yourself out and ask yourself why you're rushing the things that can wait

Maybe this is the time to learn how to sleep at night without expecting someone to say goodnight and waking up tomorrow with smile and forgiveness

In that way you will value your personal space and you can give yourself the permission to do your passion and achieve your dreams without worrying about time.

Maybe right now you are being taught that you can take care of your soul and you don't need anyone else to do it for you.

Maybe today marks the beginning of the new version of you, someone that will not rent some space in other person's heart. Because darling, I believe that you can be your own home. A home that will satisfy all your needs and wants. A home that will never get abandoned. And I hope someday you will learn to believe it too.

and so when you learn to shift the story,

you will no longer experience pain.

You may change the story from 'I failed'

to 'This was a valuable and necessary part of my soul’s path,

allowing me to gain wisdom that I otherwise wouldn’t have gained.'

From 'I was rejected'

to 'I was being redirected to an opportunity or situation that was a better fit for me, and better capable of appreciating me.'

From 'I was a misfit'

to 'I was simply in an environment that wasn’t in alignment with me or my energy, and I trust that there are those out there who are.'

From 'I was abandoned'

to 'Through being abandoned, I learned to never abandon myself and to always show up for myself when others fail to show up for me.'

From 'I encountered setbacks'

to 'I experienced detours along my path that, although may have appeared disappointing to my human self, were in alignment with my soul's path and I can surrender to a higher vision for the good of all that is beyond what I can presently see.'

From 'I experienced heartbreak'

to 'I discovered how to love unconditionally, even when love isn't reciprocated, and reflect that love to myself.'

From 'I experienced loneliness'

to 'I learned to appreciate and savour my own company, such that my presence is now a gift to others, because I am capable of comforting myself and feeling whole, complete and happy on my own.'

And so when you find yourself feeling pain,

let yourself feel it completely,

and then learn to shift the story that you tell yourself,

and all will be well."

THE PAINTER & THE LITTLE RED BOAT

A man was asked to paint a boat. He brought his paint and brushes and began to paint the boat a bright red, as the owner asked him.

While painting, he noticed a small hole in the hull, and quietly repaired it.

When he finished painting, he received his money and left.

The next day, the owner of the boat came to the painter and presented him with a nice check, much higher than the payment for painting.

The painter was surprised and said “You've already paid me for painting the boat Sir!”

“But this is not for the paint job. It's for repairing the hole in the boat.”

“Ah! But it was such a small service... certainly it's not worth paying me such a high amount for something so insignificant.”

“My dear friend, you do not understand. Let me tell you what happened:

“When I asked you to paint the boat, I forgot to mention the hole.

“When the boat dried, my kids took the boat and went on a fishing trip.

“They did not know that there was a hole. I was not at home at that time.

“When I returned and noticed they had taken the boat, I was desperate because I remembered that the boat had a hole.

“Imagine my relief and joy when I saw them returning from fishing.

“Then, I examined the boat and found that you had repaired the hole!

“You see, now, what you did? You saved the life of my children! I do not have enough money to pay your 'small' good deed.”

So no matter who, when or how, continue to help, sustain, wipe tears, listen attentively, and carefully repair all the 'leaks' you find. You never know when one is in need of us, or when God holds a pleasant surprise for us to be helpful and important to someone.

Along the way, you may have repaired numerous 'boat holes' for several people without realizing how many lives you've save.

Striking a match too hard won’t light it.

In fact, it might break it.

And then there will be no light.

Piling too much on a fire won’t keep it lit.

In fact, it might suffocate it.

And then there will be no fire.

Burning a candle constantly won’t keep it burning.

In fact, it will exhaust it.

And then there will be no flame.

Sometimes gently is better.

Sometimes little by little is needed.

Sometimes rest is necessary.

Sometimes gentleness gives us light

and space to breathe.

Sometimes gentleness allows us to come back to life again when we weren’t even sure if we still had that fire in us.

So don’t be too hard on yourself.

Don’t pile on the pressure.

Don’t burn yourself out.

Because your flame can’t stay alive like that.

She’d built herself a dam

So she could hold her tears at bay

A wall of stubborn barricade

To keep the pain away

Her barriers were busyness

Distraction and denial

And ignoring and avoiding’s

How she coped for quite a while

But the trouble was, her dam

Left nowhere for her pain to go

So it sat behind her wall

With nothing left to do but grow

The tightening in her chest

Began constricting every breath

And to battle every painful thought

Took every ounce of strength

The lump inside her throat

Got slightly bigger every day

And before too long she found

She couldn’t blink her tears away

So the pressure kept on building

And the dam began to crack

And it soon became impossible

To hold the water back

So she let the dam burst open

And as she felt the water flow

She realised sometimes all we need

Is just to let it go

A 6-year old boy was in the market with his 3-year old sister...

Suddenly the boy found that his sister was lagging behind.

He stopped and looked back - his sister was standing in front of a toy shop and was watching something with great interest.

The boy went back to her and asked, "Do you want something?" The sister pointed at the doll.

The boy held her hand and like a responsible elder brother, gave that doll to her. The sister was very very happy...

The shopkeeper was watching everything and getting amused to see the matured behaviour of the boy... the boy came to the counter and asked the shopkeeper, "What is the cost of this doll Sir?"

The shopkeeper was a kind man and had experienced the odds of life.

So he asked the boy with a lot of love n affection, “Well, what can you pay?"

The boy took out shells that he had collected from sea shore, from his pocket and gave them to the shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper took the shells and started counting as if he were counting the currency.

Then he looked at the boy.

The boy asked him worriedly, "Is it too little Sir?"

The shopkeeper said, "No, no... these are more than the cost. So I will return the remaining."

Saying so, he kept only 4 shells and returned the remaining.

The boy, very happily put the shells back in his pocket and left with his sister.

An employee was very surprised watching all this.

He asked the shopkeeper, "Sir, you gave away such a costly doll just for 4 shells?"

The shopkeeper said with a smile, "Well, for us these are mere shells, but for that boy, these shells are very precious.

And at this age he does not understand what money is yet, but when he grows up, he definitely will.

And then he would remember that he purchased a doll with shells instead of money, and he will remember me and think that world is still full of good and kind people.."

And if you should find yourself

feeling low about yourself

and overcome by the weight of the world,

speak these words

to the child within you:

"I will love you, forever and always, as a parent loves their child unconditionally, through the ups and downs of life, the twists and turns, and highs and lows. This temporary experience does not define you, determine your worth, or dictate where you may go. My love for you is as boundless as the ocean and is not dependent on what you do but is for who you are, for you were born worthy when you entered the world and you will leave it worthy. For though the human that you are may lose their way at times, the soul that you are beneath them remains completely perfect, divine and whole.

And when you find yourself concerned about what others think of you, rest easy, my dear, for people are never thinking about you as much as you think they are. In truth, they are far more focused on themselves, as each person has their own life to live. And each time they do think of you, it is in relation to themselves, not you, and is therefore a reflection of them rather than you. And so do not let your fear of their judgements or perceptions of you prevent you from living your life.

And do not dwell in shame or regret, for all who have walked the Earth and experienced what it means to be human have made what may be considered mistakes and said things that would have been best left unspoken. But were they to never stumble, they would cease to grow or transform. And they would never discover the power that lies within them, through rising from every fall.

And so, may you shift your focus from the past and what has come to pass, to this present moment in which you are completely free from what has already transpired, should you choose to be. For you are born anew entirely in each present moment, and the past version of yourself no longer exists. What counts is who you choose to be now.
