A MEMORY WAS BORN by Joanne Boyle

"A MEMORY WAS BORN"
by Joanne Boyle

I stopped by your house today.
I saw you sitting there.
I watched you through the window,
Sitting on my chair.
That old coat of mine,
you had thrown across your knee.
I wanted to come and tell you,
that's not how to remember me.
I saw you look toward the window,
then at the flicker of the light.
Yes that was me my love
from the darkness of the night.
You turned toward my photograph.
I watched you cry again.
I longed to stop those tears.
To try to take away your pain.
So I flickered the light once more.
This time I think you knew.
You then hugged that old coat
Just like you used to do.
But unlike those times before,
you saw my coat was now unworn.
You hugged it once again my love
and a memory was born.
I watched as you now smiled.
Then as you got up from the chair,
I put on that old familiar coat,
and I met you there.

LIKE A PHOTO FRAME by Tahlia Hunter

"LIKE A PHOTO FRAME"
by Tahlia Hunter

"Your life is like a photo frame.
As people choose to enter and exit your life,
the photo contained within the frame changes.
You may wish for a certain person from your past
to remain with you,
as you have a snapshot in your mind
of a single moment in time that you shared
that was special to you.
But you must remember
that your memory of them, while precious
is not an accurate reflection
of who they are capable of being in the present,
for if they wished to remain in your life,
they would be there.
And you must not let their presence
or absence overshadow you,
for they are not the main person in the image,
and so you may choose to let them go with love
and shift your focus from them back to you,
trusting that though the people in the photo may change,
your vision of love will always remain.
And remember that your future holds so much more than your past.
And you must not focus on what has left
but on what will take its place
and the new beautiful, positive memories
that you are yet to create
for the best is yet to come,
as no one can ever truly take away your happy ending
as it is never dependent on another person,
but on you.”

SEEING BUTTERFLIES by Tahlia Hunter

"SEEING BUTTERFLIES"
by Tahlia Hunter

This is why you are seeing butterflies:
There comes a time in your life,
when you seek support
outside of yourself
and you search for a sign
that you are being watched over,
and you begin to see butterflies everywhere.
And these are your symbol
that there is support that exists for you
beyond what you can see with your eyes
for you have never truly been alone,
but always surrounded by love.
For in the times when you felt alone or abandoned,
you were receiving support from angels,
or from passed on loved ones,
rather than from the physical world.
And if you only knew who walked beside you every moment,
you would never feel afraid or unsupported again.”

BAGGAGE by Becky Hemsley

"BAGGAGE"
by Becky Hemsley

She opens up her suitcase
And it’s loaded to the brim
She simply doesn’t have the room
To squeeze more baggage in
Her hold-all’s filled with years and years
Of things she has endured
But you think she has no hold-all
‘Cause she acts so self-assured
But just because she’s confident
And acts like she’s alright
It doesn’t mean her baggage
Is inconsequentially light
For though her life looks rosy
It doesn’t mean to say
That she doesn’t carry burdens
That weigh her down each day
She’s fought off many monsters
Often swam up from the depths
She’s walked through many fires
And pulled herself back from the edge
So never think she walks on air
When she’s actually walked through hell
You just don’t know her load is heavy
Because she carries it so well

It's ok to put a few things down sometimes

THE TWELVE ILLUSIONS by Tahlia Hunter

"THE TWELVE ILLUSIONS" by Tahlia Hunter
And on the path of self-acceptance,
These twelve illusions you shall shed:
The illusion of being unwanted:
For, in truth, there is no such thing as an unwanted soul.
The illusion of being unlovable:
For your true self is love.
The illusion of unworthiness:
For you are always deserving of love and success.
The illusion of being weird:
For there is no such thing as normal.
The illusion of needing external validation:
For your worth is never dependent on another's approval.
The illusion of being insignificant:
For your presence impacts all of humanity.
The illusion of being powerless:
For within you lies the strength to shape your destiny and influence the world.
The illusion of not being good enough:
For you were born good enough.
The illusion of being a burden:
For your existence is a precious gift, and your contributions add value.
The illusion of being unsuccessful:
For success is subjective, and your path is uniquely yours.
The illusion of being ugly:
Because that label only ever reflects the viewer being incapable of seeing beauty.
And the illusion that aging decreases your value:
For, in truth, you are not a body but a soul.

I'M SEEING GOD TODAY by Joanne Boyle

"I'M SEEING GOD TODAY"
by Joanne Boyle

I went to see God today
and I looked him in the eye.
I asked him why he took me,
and made so many cry.
I waited for my answer
to bring it back to you, then
God turned to me and smiled
and opened up a view.
I saw familiar faces.
Dogs that played with birds.
Flowers that never wilted.
No one was ever scared.
Children wore their wings
like a costume from a shop.
The eternal view of life
was never meant to stop.
I still didn't understand
but I felt glad that I was here.
God then opened up the clouds
and I saw that I was near.
It was then he began to speak,
he said "just look down there.
So much pain and destruction,
a sight I cannot bare.
So each day I find new angels,
some are young and some are old,
but once they are here in heaven
their age will always hold.
I know that when I take them,
hearts will break in two.
I keep sending down reminders,
in their memories of you.
My angels go to earth
and help them with this fate
but some I go to carry,
to help them through the gate.
Some people are in pain
and though you cannot see,
heaven is the place,
that they deeply long to be.
Some are just too beautiful,
or were sent to earth too soon.
Some were just too fragile,
to be a part of life's sad tune.
We know who is arriving,
the time, the date and place.
We know we leave so many
with a big and empty space.
We will fill it with sweet memories
and let you go and see.
What matters to us most
is that you are now happy."
By now I had forgotten my question,
but not those I'd left behind.
I knew I would always live
in the memories that you'll find.

THEY'RE TELLING YOU... by Becky Hemsley

"THEY'RE TELLING YOU..."
by Becky Hemsley

They saw you watching over them
As they finally closed their eyes
They smelt your scent as they breathed
In and out for the last time
They heard the way your voice broke
As you told them they were loved
They felt you as you held them
With your gentle, farewell touch
And now they watch each morning
As you pass their empty bed
They watch you lose composure
And they see the tears you shed
They hear you bear the silence
Of the footsteps that are gone
That walk across your heart each day
Like echoes of a song
They feel the pang of emptiness
You get when you’re alone
In moments when you realise
That they’re never coming home
But in their darkest moment
You were there to hold them tight
And they just want the same for you
So you can feel alright
So they’re sewing you a rainbow,
Weaving ribbons through the sky
So they can let you know
That life is good beyond goodbye
So next time it is raining
And the sun appears as well
Just feel and look and listen
To what they are trying to tell
They’re telling you it’s spring there
With its showers and its sun
Where there are endless fields for them
To play and stretch and run
They’re telling you they sleep upon
The biggest, softest beds
That they have stitched from all the clouds
That float above your head
They’re telling you they’re not alone
For there are many others
And they’ve been reunited
With their parents, sisters, brothers
They’re showing you their rainbow
So you know they won’t forget you
And to tell you they will always be
So happy that they met you
And they’re telling you they love you
And though they’ll be dearly missed,
Not to worry, ‘cause it’s beautiful
Beyond the rainbow bridge
