AS MARY WEPT by Joanne Boyle

"AS MARY WEPT"
by Joanne Boyle

As Mary watched
over yonder's way
with faith in her heart
she knew today,
her son would rest
but wasn't lost
though he paid a price
for eternal cost.
She shed a tear
but was not alone,
as her son
laid on a stone.
She knew the Father
had to make,
the sacrifice
for all our sakes.
As Mary wept
with her head held high
she heard a message
from the sky.
"Do not weep, for
when tomorrow is here
the resurrection of life
shall then be clear."
So, patiently, she sat
and as everyone mourned,
Mary knew in her heart
that the crown that was thorned,
would now be replaced
with heavens glow
and would be a reminder,
for all to know.
