"WE HOPE" by Becky Hemsley

"WE HOPE"
by Becky Hemsley

A brand new page is waiting
A new chapter poised to start
A blessing who already
Has a place within our hearts
A story just beginning
That we know we’ll always treasure
Because it is the tale of one
Who’s loved beyond all measure
A brand new ray of sunshine
And a bright new ray of hope
A shining light: you bring more peace
Than you will ever know
A brand new morning chorus
And a beautiful new song
A new voice in an old world
A new place where you belong
A brand new flower blooming
A new star that hangs on high
A rainbow that is bursting
Into colours in the sky
And soon we’ll hold your tiny hand
And say our first ‘hello’
And there are oh so many things
We hope for as you grow
We hope you love the sunrise
And we hope you love the rain,
We hope you learn that when you fall
You’ll always rise again
We hope you’re filled with kindness,
That you dream both day and night,
We hope you learn to take a leap
And let those dreams take flight
We hope you always realise
That with us you’re always home
That when the world is heavy
You are never on your own
We hope one day you’ll recognise
The music in your heart
The light you’ve always carried
From your story’s very start
Yes, one day you will understand
How much you mean to us
Because a brand new page awaits
To tell a story filled with love

A few months ago, I was asked if I had ever written a new baby poem - and (as I hadn't) if I could do so for a baby welcoming party. The intended relatives have now received this poem so I thought I'd share it with all of you too
