"THE PRECIOUS VASE" by Tahlia Hunter

"THE PRECIOUS VASE"
by Tahlia Hunter

My grandmother
once gave me a precious vase
and she told me,
“Do not fear,
if this breaks,
for it is not the vase
that is precious,
but the memory of me.
Likewise,
do not fear
if I seem gone.
For I am not like this vase.
I can never be broken,
for even
if you cannot see me
or hold me,
I am still here.” *************
